Fluffy, the brown poodle

Amber's friend, Christian's mummy have been helping her friend to babysit a poodle for 2 weeks. During these period, Amber gets to see Fluffy everytime Christian's mummy brings him to school. She loves dogs very much, especially such cutie like Fluffy. GemsPapa have been talking about buying a real dog for her but I disallowed that. Keeping a dog is a lifetime commitment and comes with a huge responsibility, I do not have confident that our family can keep to that commitment as yet, hence this shall be KIV for now.

Fluffy will be going back to the owner today. 惨了 I reckon Amber will be very sad when she learns about that. True enough, when I told her Fluffy went back to his real mommy already, she starts to tear....aawwwww, my girl is such an animal lover...

Amber didn't keep her promise

The Gems requested to buy tictac yesterday and asked if they can bring that along to their ballet class. I've explained to them that no food is allowed in the ballet class, but they can bring, on the condition that, they can only eat one in the car on the way to class and one in the car on the way back home. Nothing in the class. Both agreed.
I was so angry when I found out that Amber stop in the middle of the class and sat at the corner, finishing 3/4 of her tictac! I punished her by ordering her to throw the remaining of her tictac into the dustbin herself, she cried so hard and refused. In the end, I threw it myself right in front of her face. I think outsiders might be thinking what have this mummy done to her.

I hope one day she'll understand why I am doing these. She always don't keep her words and gets away with it. I asked her later in the day about this again and she said she knows she's not supposed to eat in the class and can only eat 2 yesterday. So she knows! Needs to practice this more often so that she knows she have to honour her promise.

Amber is back to CCC

After her breakfast, I told her that I'm going to the office and went off. But secretly took these pictures behind the windows. She caught me standing outside and cried very hard. It's really a mistake which I've learnt years ago but forgot to put it into practice. I am always so eager to know how my GEMs are coping in the CCC while I'm not around but, it's really a really bad move. When we say we're leaving, we are not supposed to confuse them but appearing at the window the other minute. End up she keeps looking out of the window the entire day...my poor Amber.

Amber can recite 三字经！！！

I finally get to film Amber reciting the 三字经... and she's only 2.5 years old! Kids really have super mega memory. Best part is, I never intend to teach her in the first place, she actually hear that every night when Pearl, her che che, recites it. All the while, we thought she's asleep coz she's always lying down with her back facing us! Never did we expect that she 偷师 and had attain enlightenment herself already until I heard her "mumbling" it!!

Although it's not clear and probably only mummy and che che can understand, but we're all still so proud you....muack!

Amber can use the laptop now!

I am quite surprised that Amber is able to manovere the mouse pretty well and playing the CD-ROM all by herself. But of coz, the CD-ROM is meant for a young toddler. She is not required to click the mouse and the item will be picked up once the mouse is near it. I should have started her earlier as this provides her yet another channel for learning since she had been staying at home since I withdrew her from the childcare centre in April this year.

Amber not going to CCC anymore

Enough is enough. Mei is not going to the CCC anymore. Looking at her medicine log book, I nearly faint. She see doctor 3x per month. Most of the time requires to take anti-biotic and other times, we need to rush her to the KKH for high fever and short of breath. She's always pretty serious that we do not have to wait at the KKH, we just go straight to the treatment room.

We have finally made the decision to withdraw her from the CCC. Wanted her to take a good rest and build up her immunity first. Many have been telling me that it's usual for a child to fall sick when they starts going to CCC. Of coz I know, dun forget Pearl starts going to CCC at 13 months. But being sick, to the extend that she needs to see doc 3x a month for consecutively 6 months is not normal! At least that's what I think. No way am I letting my little one fall sick for that long.

I was so lost during these periods. It's not very nice to keep taking urgent leave but luckily, my company is still quite understanding. If it's the former company, think my stress level will go up x100.

I did whatever I can to help her but seems to be of not much help. Here's a summary:

Western GP/PD
Nebulizer, inhaler. Amber is very very cooperative. She eats her medicine herself. I'll put all the syringes in a cup and she'll sit down and eat them all by herself. Sometimes, she needs to take at many as 7 types of medicines. And know what, she'll 乖乖 hold the mask of the nebulizer while watching her Barney!! She changed to using the chamber for the inhaler and she'll hold the chamber, take deep breadth and count with me! She's definitely my precious little gem.

TCM/小儿推拿
We went all the way to Kembangan for 小儿推拿。 She needs to go for treatment at least 3x per week. Usually have to spend at least 3 hours there. I am very fortunate that Amber does not reject being massage or taking chinese medicine. That really makes thing much easier for me.

Vitamin & Tonics
Spent almost S$500 at Natures Farm buying all the vits and tonics for her. But, hardly able to take them as she's always on medication. Now I am eating them myself...

Humidifier
Papa bought it from the IT fair just for her. It's placed next to her sleeping area to improve the quality of the air around her.

Change name
We went to seek advice from a shifu to ask about Amber's Chinese name. It was badly chosen for her, need to change. We seek second opinion with 游龙子, apparently the more well-known one. Also said the same. We 顺便 change Pearl and my name as well. After that, still have to go ICA to make the necessary name change. How tiring...

All of the above does not stop Amber from falling sick again and again. LAST RESORT - STOP GOING TO CCC!!!

Papa said I overdo. I dunno, I only know that I will do whatever I can to help her. For the sake of my child, 赴汤蹈火，在所不辞。

I am very very grateful to my MIL. 真的是发自内心的感谢。 She had promised to help me look after Amber until she starts CCC again 2010. I intend to scout for a non-aircon CCC for them. Anyway, don't quite like the one they are attending. Pearl also having some problem in the CCC. Sianz...problem never ending...

I was hospitalised...

I had high fever for many days. Mummy and papa were so worried they sent me to the hospital. I stayed at the hospital 3 days 2 nights because the doc said I've got eye infection. Mummy...I don't like the hospital at all!
